A few months back, Moreno Valley, CA emcee, Pheo., had me hooked on his music (and avocados) with his AFTA-1 produced joint, “Medianos.” The track banged and was accompanied by the promise of a new project (his first in over 2 years), The Adret. Well Pheo.’s latest full length has now arrived. The Adret, french for a side of a mountain receiving direct sunlight, is an 8-track release with contributions from Stevie Crooks, D’Moor, Steve Liriks, Frank Deux, AFTA-1, Mikos Da Gawd, J Money, and more. Pheo. describes the project:
All 8 tracks radiate a similar theme of seeking the inner energy necessary to overcome your largest obstacles. When looking back, it was that fateful pastrami run [the trip where Pheo. learned he had been dropped from Epic Records] that led Pheo. to his current vibe, rooted in discovering true perspective on your existence, while appreciating life’s opportunities.
