Alabama’s Own Watch The Duck Debuts ‘Stretch 2-3-4’ With Pharrell

Celebrated trapstep innovators, Watch The Duck, are back on the grind with a new funky track to whet the appetite for those anticipating their newest EP.

For those unfamiliar with the group, let’s be clear, they’re a dope collective of friends who decided to turn the music game on its axis with an innovative sound. Watch The Duck, which was formed by Eddie Smith III, Jesse Rankins and Jonathan Wells, took their DJ, producing and musicianship prowess to create a movement that got them out of their Montgomery, Alabama roots and into the big time.

Describing their work in an eloquent quote, saying, “Everybody sees the duck traveling smoothly on top of the water but nobody sees it kicking hard as hell under it, struggling to stay afloat,” the guys have went hard on the downstroke with their latest cut, “Stretch 2-3-4,” which features Pharrell Williams. The Dim Mak/Epic Records signed group has already caused an uproar with their trapstep, genre-bending song, “Poppin’ Off,” which already sports a hard-as-nails remix by GQ Man of the Year, President Barack Obama.

“Stretch 2-3-4” invokes heavy bounce with “Finna Get Loose” aspirations. Although Pharrell is only on the hook, the track is dripping with enough booty-rumping goodness that you’ll have this burning on repeat all throughout those winter months.

This song, as well as “Don’t Blame Luv,” which features T.I., will appear on Watch The Duck’s forthcoming effort, The Trojan Horse, due Nov. 20. Other guest appearances will include Afrojack, Steve Aoki and ScHoolboy Q.
