It will always seem like an unlikely pairing at first blush, but Espa and the Flatbush Zombies’ Erick Arc Elliott really do make some beautiful music together. This time around, Erick simply provides the beat and lets Espa’s powerful vocals shine. Joining her on the track is UK emcee Giggs with a mellowed out verse to complete “Swan Song.” Says Espa: “When I write about a situation, I want to be able to reach that place over and over again. I have to be able to perform the lyrics and not distance myself from the audience — I want them to feel what I am feeling too, even if their experiences are not the same as mine.” Listen to her give you that feeling, below.
