Hear Two New Tracks From Drake’s ‘Views From The 6’

It seems the only way Drake can keep the entirety of his Views From The 6 LP from leaking is by just dropping tracks the good old fashioned way. Today, he did just that, releasing not one, but two new joints from Views that should get even the most diabolical Aubrey-haters to warm-up to the kid. First, there’s the dancehall leaning floor-shaker, “One Dance,” featuring Filipino r&b star Kyla and Nigerian hip-hop sensation Wizkid.

The second drop hosts a star-studded collision of Drizzy and The Throne, BKA Kanye West and Jay Z. “Pop Style” bares all the marks of a 40 production, slung with trap-trills of hi-hats and all of the braggadocio you can bear. The tracks arrive as a rather quick follow-up to last Friday’s leak of “Faithful,” which commences with a mic-check from the late Pimp C, as well as “Controlla” and “These Days” before that. And though it may seem that we’ve heard all of Views before it even drops, our bet is that there’s plenty more on the way before the album’s imminent April drop. Adam Vida Returns with New Single “Sifu”

Speaking of slept on emcees. With a new moniker in tow, A-1 Adam Vida makes his return with a new joint. Following up on his 2015 project, Thurlian, Adam Vida has plans of dropping a new as-yet-untitled EP this Spring. The Bay Area emcee gets things started with this lyrical exercise, “Sifu.” Adam collaborates with producers Mikos Da Gawd, Mr. Carmack, and Woostar, and does work for just over 2 minutes. Slum Village’s ‘Fantastic Vols 1 & 2’ Arriving In Box Set w/ Bonus Cuts feat. Madlib, Pete Rock + More

Detroit natives know better than most, when Slum Village‘s now classic Fantastic Vol. 1 arrived in 1997, there was no more coveted item in The Motor City. Now almost two decades later, the insta-mythos of Vol. 1 and it’s stud 200o follow-up are the only vestiges of SV’s original roster of Baatin, T3 and, of course, the late and immeasurably great, J Dilla.

And while, we here at OKP HQ (and what would we’d like to assume is the entirety of the hip-hop community) have long held those two introductory pieces as sacred and familiar sonic ground, Get On Down is readying the release of a very special new box set of the Fantastic LPs. Containing both volumes, the box set will span physical mediums and decades of Slum Village material, with three CDs holding the pair of classic volumes, plus five multicolored 45s with selections from each. A fourth CD in the set will house bonus material that features productions from Pete Rock and Madlib amongst others. According to a press release, the Fantastic box set will begin shipping in early May, but you can pre-order your copy today via the link below.
